About Sullivan & Comerford

Since 1971, Sullivan & Comerford (S&C), formerly known as Sullivan & Sullivan, P.C., has proudly provided its clients with extraordinary legal services. S & C is small enough to deliver individual attention to clients yet big enough to handle large and complex legal matters. Our practice includes real estate litigation, permitting, wills, trusts, corporate and school law. We represent individuals and institutional clients throughout Massachusetts. Our law firm is proud to deliver innovative and expedient resolutions to our clients and to hold an AV rating from Martindale-Hubble, the highest rating available.

S&C’s mission is to exceed our clients’ expectations by providing the highest level of legal services. For this reason, many large and small businesses throughout the South Shore area have relied on us for legal representation including Jack Conway & Company, Inc.; Group Insurance Service Center, Inc.; Not Your Average Joe’s, Inc.; South Shore Medical Center; several local boards of realtors; The Connell Company; and the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.

Today, our approach to any legal issue remains the same as it was at our founding in 1971. We carefully listen to our client; we analyze the appropriate issues, and we advise the client on a suggested course of action and the costs likely to incur. We then utilize a team-based approach, making sure that the attorney with the most expertise in that specific area has input into the proposed solution. We are very proud to serve our clients with timely, cost efficient and professional service, and we welcome the opportunity to discuss our services with you in greater detail.

Our Story

Our firm was founded by Walter L. Sullivan (1935-2019). Born and raised in Somerville, Massachusetts, Walter Sr. obtained his undergraduate degree from Boston College, studied at Boston College Law School for two years and, after military service, graduated from New England School of Law in 1962. He was associated with Lyne Woodworth & Evarts until 1971, when he commenced a proprietorship based in Scituate.

After 30 years as a sole practitioner, Walter Sr. invited his son Walter B. Sullivan into a partnership and became known as Sullivan & Sullivan, P.C. The practice relocated to Norwell. Not long thereafter, in 1993, the partnership became a firm when Attorney Anita J. Comerford joined.

Today, the practice is known as Sullivan & Comerford, P.C. and remains true to its mission established 50 years earlier.
