Anita Comerford

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Anita is a 1985 graduate of the University of Illinois and a l989 graduate of St. Louis University School of Law. She is licensed to practice in the State and Federal Courts in Massachusetts and Illinois. Before becoming a shareholder and director of Sullivan & Sullivan, P.C., she was an associate with Knight, Hoppe, Fanning, Knight Ltd., where she concentrated upon the defense of municipalities in connection with general liability and civil rights matters; and premises and homeowner liability and automobile tort defense. While practicing in Chicago, she was a member of the Judiciary Committee for the Chicago Bar Association and served as a volunteer instructor with the Chicago Coalition for Law Related Education.

In l993 she she joined the firm of Sullivan & Sullivan, P.C. and became a partner in 1995. In 2014, the firm changed it’s name to Sullivan & Comerford P.C. Her practice focuses on wills, trusts, estate planning, estate settlement and estate litigation. In addition, she also represents clients before municipal boards and state agencies in the area of land use and services the needs of her south shore corporate clients. Attorney Comerford is licensed to practice law in all state and federal courts in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of Illinois.

She currently serves as a member and treasurer of the Hingham Affordable Housing Trust satisfying her desire to ensure that affordable housing is being created in her home town in a responsible manner. Additionally, she is the current Treasurer of the Plymouth County Bar Association and volunteers her time to the Plymouth County Lawyer of the Day program.

Outside of the legal community, Anita is a very active member of the Board of Trustee of The Company Theatre in Norwell, MA.
